                               Facts About Cougars

The cougar is actually the second largest cat in North America. Unlike other big cats the cougar cannot roar. Instead the cougar purrs like a house cat. Cougars also have a similar body to types of house cats only on a larger scale. The coat of the cougar is a greyish tan to a reddish colour with lighter parts on the underside. The tail has a black spot at the end. Mostly cougars prey on deer but feed on smaller animals if necessary.  Cougars have even been known to eat insects. Skilled hunters cougars stay hidden from their prey until they can pounce with claws out stretched. Cougars can also climb with ease and leap over 6 m (20 ft).

A healthy cougar can live up to around 10 years of age. In captivity cougars can live as long as 20 years.

                                   Free Writing -  A Fictional Story

(The wolf pups name is Dawn)

One day a beautiful stunning wild white wolf pup was getting chased by another pack of wolves. Dawn was running around the forest trying to get the pack off her back as she had a big flash back of what they did to her family (They killed her parents and her little brother) she looked for something to hide behind as she stumbled across a rock and slid down the hill nearly hitting her head on the ground but shoves her paws in front to save her head. She quickly hides behind the large rock. As the pack of wolves stood on the rock with their strong paws she could hear a loud noise as rocks fell onto the ground. Luckily the other pack of wolves got tired of trying to find her and decided to go back to their pack. 

She was scared and didn't want to leave the rock but she did and started looking around and started Scavenging for food. She finally found food and it was a bunny "Good enough...." she thought as she pounced on the bunny and ate it although it wasn't enough to make her full she still liked it as a snack. She also saw a pond near and had a drink and then a butterfly landed on her noise. She tried to chase the butterfly and carried on chasing it but she didn't know it was near the border (the border in this story is like a line to another packs den). She carried on and wandered towards the border eventually crossing it as a bunch of wolves started to surround her. She was worried. "I-I'm sorry I just stumbled across a butterfly and I chased it here I guess.." the alpha male of the wolf pack walked in front of all of them and said "No its fine but where are your parents?" she ended up telling him the story. "Well you can join our pack if you would like" he said proudly. 

Room 6 Test Launch

This was us doing a test launch with Matua Pete our administrator with these cool little soda bottle rockets!. I really enjoyed launching the rockets with my team. There were roles like -  Scientist , Chief Engineer , Safety and help officer and I may have forgot the last one. But we really had fun launching the rockets.
