Te Reo Video - What are you doing on the weekend

We were learning to pronounce sentences in te reo

The sentence we learnt this week was 

"What are you doing on the weekend?" - In te reo

Our task was to ask the question and respond in te reo Maori

I found it tricky to say the words but it was also to find a spot to

 film it where the sun was shining and it was quiet. 

Next time I would try pronounce my te reo words better!~

Kawakawa Balm - Rongoa

Last term we learnt about rongoa, We made Kawakawa 

balm and Kawakawa oil! 

We also had to make packaging for our Kawakawa balm.

 I found it enjoyable to make the boxes because it was
interesting. Sadly I was absent on the day that my class

 made the Kawakawa balm. Next time I need to

package the box tidier. In the unit I learnt -

 More about the rongoa plants, how to make  

 Kawakawa oil and making a net shape for 

my Kawakawa balm box! Here are some facts  

- rongoa used to be used to heal gunshots

- Some hospitals are thinking of using rongoa
alongside modern medicine.

Museum Exhibit - Telescope Lens

Our Task was to create a slide called Museum Exhibit and then write a description about it and after that to put a image of a museum and put it there like it was in the museum . I found it easy to write the description but hard to find a image of inside the museum. Next time I'm gonna add more detail.

Summer Learning Journey - Day 1 Pepeha Teaser Week

This is my pepeha I did on canva for Summer Learning Journey!!!.  It took like 10 minutes to make and it was really fun to work with this interesting site!. I found it easy to write my pepeha into the boxes but tricky to put the background in. I enjoyed this task cause it was just super easy to use.

Ngahiraka Mai Tawhiti

Tuesday 20th of February  we went on a small trip with 3 classes to go see Ngahiraka Mai Tawhiti (A waka). I had so much fun with my friends when we went and we learnt a lot about the waka and how they travelled on it and we also did some Moari games.

Maori Poi

Today I finished my poi. It was very hard to make because it took 3 days. When I finally finished it, I was so excited. My first step was to get a huge bit of foam and cut around it until it looked like a circle. Then my next step was to cut a hole in it and tie a knot and stick it in the hole. Third we got a plastic bag and put it around the poi. The hardest bit for me was cutting the foam into a circle.
